TraderTracked ("we", "us", "our") is a trading journal service operated by Niall Aldred, trading as TraderTracked, based in Leicester, United Kingdom. Niall Aldred is the data controller for your personal data. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The short version. We use your journal to run the service. We also combine trading data from across all users into anonymised, aggregated statistics that can't identify you. We use these for community features and research, and we may sell or license them to third parties, including investment funds.
We will only ever share your individual trade history (with your name and email removed) if you separately opt in, and you can withdraw at any time. We never sell your name, email, notes, screenshots or billing details.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Name, email address, password (hashed) | Account creation and login, via our authentication provider |
| Your trade journal entries (pairs, direction, entries, exits, stop loss, take profit, risk, P&L, setups, timestamps, accounts, notes, screenshots you upload) | The core function of the service (storing and analysing your trading history), plus the anonymised insights described in section 4 |
| Trading rules you define, rule-breach records, and trade validator settings | The rules-tracking and validator features you use in the app |
| Billing details (name, card details) | Processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number |
| Your data-sharing choices | Recording whether you've opted in to the Data Partner Programme (section 4.2), and when |
| Support messages | If you contact us via Discord or email |
| Basic technical data (IP address, browser type, session tokens) | Keeping you logged in securely and keeping the service running |
If you use the "read from screenshot" feature, the trade screenshot you upload is sent securely to Anthropic's API to extract trade details (pair, entry, exit, stop loss, take profit, etc.) as text. The image is processed for this single purpose, and under Anthropic's API terms it is not used to train their models. We do not keep a copy of the raw screenshot on our servers beyond what's needed to process the request.
A large pool of real retail trading data is valuable, both to you as a trader and to others. Here is exactly how we use it.
We combine trading data from across our user base to produce statistics and datasets, for example win rates by currency pair, session or setup, how traders perform around high-impact news, and how retail traders are positioned. Before any of this leaves your account, we:
Once data has been anonymised like this it no longer identifies you, and it is no longer personal data. We may use it to:
If you don't want your journal included in these datasets, email us (section 8) and we'll exclude your account from any future datasets.
Some partners, such as investment funds, want to study individual trading behaviour over time rather than only averages. We will only share your individual trade history if you actively opt in to our Data Partner Programme in your account settings. It is off by default. If you opt in:
Service providers. We use a small number of trusted providers. Each one only processes data on our instructions, under their own data processing agreements:
Data buyers and partners. These receive anonymised, aggregated data (section 4.1), and individual de-identified trade history only from users who have opted in (section 4.2).
Legal. We may disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights. If TraderTracked is sold or merged, user data would transfer to the new owner under the same protections set out in this policy.
Some of our providers (including Anthropic and Stripe) and some data partners may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred, appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum, or a UK adequacy decision.
We keep your account and journal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll delete your personal data within 30 days, except billing records we're required to keep for tax and accounting purposes (typically 6 years, per HMRC rules). Your data won't be included in any datasets created after deletion. Anonymised, aggregated statistics already created can't be traced back to you, so they may be kept.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email us at Niall@globalascend.co.uk.
TraderTracked is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.
We'll update this page if anything material changes, and update the "last updated" date above. For significant changes, we'll notify active users directly before the change takes effect.
